  • Actually, I'm sure they (the founding fathers) didn't bother with it for a reason. Infant mortality was high in those days, only about 20-30% of children born in the 18th century made it past the age of 6.

  • "The fusion of a human sperm with an egg can only lead to a human." Not true. Approximately 50% of "fusion of a human sperm with an egg" cases result in a spontaneous abortion, i.e. a miscarriage.

  • Personally, I don't know why anyone would want to have more than one abortion, let alone as a form of birth control. They appear to hurt like hell. I saw five done while in nursing school.

  • Yep, that's true. But it can't breathe, swallow, digest, or excrete naturally until week 30 of gestation. Before that, it can't live independently of the mother.

  • Outlawing abortion will do nothing to stop it. Women have been inducing abortions for as long as people have been writing things down. There are countries where abortion is illegal.

  • Comparing the US to nations with HSR is comparing apples and oranges. I lived in two European nations for a total of just over 6 years and I never owned or needed a car. The US is far less densely populated than most of western Europe and Japan.

  • Perhaps they should lift the ban on milk expressed from women who lactate as a means to lose weight - lactation uses 500+ calories a day. My co-worker kept on pumping, even after her son was eating exclusively solid foods.
